I love people and I love helping people realize their dreams. Above all I value integrity and kindness. I work hard in business and for my clients, many of whom have become dear friends over the years, and I value my colleagues and the mission we share. I learn everyday, thrive on new challenges and continue to keep up with the changing market.  I've been selling real estate in the Sacramento area since 1994. With 25 wonderful years in Sacramento I have learned the neighborhoods “like the back of my hand”, watching growth and changes all over. I am a wealth of information and love to share my knowledge and help my clients in every way I can.  I pride myself on my professionalism, sense of fairness, and keen negotiating skills.

I started my real estate career in Northern New Mexico in the mid 1980’s, working on some interesting trade deals with the Pueblo Indians. It was a learning experience, and makes for some good stories. I moved back to San Francisco in 1987 and went into a different field, managing art galleries in San Francisco and then in Los Angeles.  Also an interesting time and rewarding on many levels. I managed art galleries in 1989 in S.F. and 1994 in L.A., so I was in charge of clean-up in the galleries after both earthquakes. Shortly after the Northridge quake I decided to move to Sacramento, buy a house near family in South Land Park, leave the shaking behind and move forward (as I had always planned to do) in my real estate career. It has been a good decision for so many reasons. I truly love to help make people's lives better, and I hope to make a difference in some of the lives I touch.  I try to teach by example, exceed expectations, and pay it forward whenever I can.

I am a Lyon Mentor at the Downtown office and take that responsibility very seriously as I know I am a big influence in how their careers take shape and how professional they are as Lyon agents and Realtors in our community.

I'm also an involved member of the Sacramento Association of Realtors. Chair of the Marketing/Communications Committee for 2017 and 2018. And 2016-2020 Member of the  Masters Club Steering Committee and a Life Member since 2004. I proudly coordinate the Realtor volunteer program serving meals to the homeless guests at Loaves & Fishes. This is one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had.

I am always available to help with any real estate questions, or anyone wanting to buy or sell.

Karen is a very kind, knowledgeable, hard working person. A very well liked person by all she comes in contact with. She is very connected in the community. She has a very good personality and is a joy to be around and work with. Karen found us the perfect property and worked hard to make it all work out! Karen Berkovitz was wonderful to work with. She understood exactly what we were looking for and she worked very hard to find out. She was always in contact to let us know what was going on and making appointments with us. She explained everything to us so we knew exactly what to expect. She was just a joy to work with and would love to work with her again!

Just finished my third RE transaction with Karen. The first was 22 years ago and she still has the same positive energy. Karen is supremely patient, knows her stuff and yet also makes the experience fun.

Karen Berkovitz has been such a pleasure to work with and is a super star when it comes to helping us finding the right home. We looked for the perfect place for a couple years and she was always ready to show us a house and always with a smile. Karen took the time to get to know us and exactly what we were looking for. That and her knowledge of the Sacramento area were huge benefits for finding our new home Thank you Karen!

I would highly recommend Karen Bertkovitz, We just dropped in to ask a few questions. Karen was there and took the time to answer without any pressure. Went above and beyond what I expected. Talked to a couple other agents and decided to call her and see if she wanted the listing. Very happy to work with her. She was great! Walked me through all aspects and handled all details. Made it easier for me to navigate my way through the entire process. She was always accessible, either answered my calls or texted promptly. Kept me in the loop at all times. Much appreciated. EXCELLENT!

Karen went above and beyond as an agent. She had great contacts and was very much on top of things every step of the process from listing to closing. Karen is kind, professional, and very knowledgeable -- all the qualities you would want in an agent/broker.

Karen went above and beyond expectations. When problems with graffiti happened, Karen contacted the city on my behalf. When prospective buyers inspected my property, I recieved feedback immediately. When a roof leak ocurred, she recommended three roofing contractors. When fencing of our property was needed, she put me in contact with a local company. Anytime a message was left for Karen, she responded quickly. It was obvious to me that service was always important to Karen. I would recommend Karen to anyone interested in the sale or purchase of commercial or rental income properties. Her batting average has been in the "Hall of fame category".

Karen Berkovitz is a top notch realtor. Karen educated us over the past 6 months on purchasing an investment property. When we started it was difficult to understand everything. We now have a new language and are capable of making good decisions utilizing the skills we have gained through the process. If you're looking for an honest, hard working realtor, Karen is a good choice.
